Veteran Roots. Family-Operated.
Built on a Commitment to Performance.
Since 1992, Solidstrip® has been the trusted name in plastic media blasting for the U.S. Military, aerospace industry, and commercial operations nationwide.
How Solidstrip® Began
Solidstrip® Plastic Abrasives were originally developed by E.I. DuPont in the 1980s to meet a growing need for a surface cleaning media that was efficient, effective, and environmentally responsible. In 1992, a group of founders, including a U.S. Air Force veteran, acquired the technology from DuPont and built Solidstrip® into the company it is today: locally owned, family-operated, and still guided by the same commitment to performance and reliability.
One of Solidstrip’s Founders Receives National Chinese Air Force Wings
In 1952, First Lieutenant Jayson R. Brentlinger served at Luke Air Force Base, training a class of Nationalist Chinese Air Force officers in aerial gunnery and instrument flying. At the conclusion of the course, a Chinese colonel promised Brentlinger a set of wings. Thirteen years passed before they arrived.
The delay traced back to a change in federal law governing foreign military decorations. Once it cleared, Brentlinger’s wings, a yellowed certificate and a tarnished golden emblem, finally made their way to his door.
